Arduino-based Input/output software
for DIY home cockpit simulator
--- The latest date of ArdSimX software update - January 26, 2018 --- (see Notes here)(Note: when updating, make sure you have both the plugin and the library of the latest versions)
ArdSimX Interface is easy to use Arduino-based Input/Output software for creating DIY controls (inputs and outputs) for you home cockpit X-Plane simulator without programming and advanced electronics knowledge.
This project was planned and developed with an idea that every home cockpit builder should have a handy tool that will make the construction process fun, inexpensive and easy. You do not necessary have to spend a lot of money to realize your dreams.
- The core part of this project is ArdSimX Plugin that need to be placed in the X-Plane's "plugins" folder.
- The second essential part of software is ArdSimX Library for Arduino.
All you need to start is to place ArdSimX Plugin into the X-Plane "plugins" folder, then upload the base sketch (included in the library) to your Arduino and configure several inputs (switches) and outputs (e.g. LEDs). This will take a few minutes for you to try it.
ArdSimX plugin supports both LAN and USB connection with Arduino.
Just one Arduino Mega board may be enough for the whole cockpit controls, also you can have up to 9 different boards with ArdSimX on one system, with LAN connection and USB connection in any combination.
To assign Arduino pins for input or output the convenient online configuration toolis used. All connected boards use one combined Input/Output configuration.
ArdSimX Configurator allows you to easily link all your controls and instruments to X-Plane using any of the popular Arduino boards (Mega, Uno, Nano, Mini, Micro), without requiring additional Arduino programming. All these configuration options are supported directly, without additional Arduino programming or libraries adding:
ArdSimX is our current Arduino Interface. If you're looking for info on the previous interface "ArdSim", you can check it here.
NOTE: The newest ArdSimX.2 (ASX2) Interface is currently under way, you can check all news and development status
on our ArdSimX blog.
The ArdSimX plugin also is a core part of our SimVim instruments - an easy-to-use program providing a set of realistic, fully-functional aircraft instruments to be displayed on a computer that is connected by network to the main computer with X-Plane and ArdSimX plugin.
